The Wife's Right to Sexual Relations

READ DISCLAIMER BEFORE PROCEEDING

THE WIFE'S RIGHT TO SEXUAL RELATIONS

Like men, women have sexual needs. However, unlike men, they have more control over their sexual urges due to the inherent temperamental, physical, and emotional differences between women and men.

A woman will not normally demand the fulfilment of her sexual needs. Instead, when she is in the mood, she will employ various means of seducing her husband, by adorning herself, talking to him enticingly, and gazing at him longingly. Medical experts are of the opinion that a woman's sexual desire reaches its peak directly after the completion of her menstrual cycle. A perceptive husband realises this and is responsive to her signals.

The husband is religiously obliged to fulfil the sexual needs of his wife. It is a sin on his part to deprive his wife of this right without a valid excuse or permission. This is why many jurists hold that it is religiously obligatory for the husband to have sex with his wife every so often. (See: Bada'i al-Sana'i 2:331)

Sayyiduna 'Abdullah ibn Amr (r) relates:

"My father married me off to a woman of good lineage, and he used to consult his daughter-in-law- i.e. his son's wife -and ask her about her husband. She would say to him, "An excellent man! A man who has not slept with us in bed nor removed the veil from us since we came to him!" When that went on for a long time, he (my father) mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (s). The Messenger of Allah (s) said, "Send him to me." So I went to meet him soon after, and he said, "How often do you fast?" I said, "Every day." He said, "How often do you complete the Qur'an?" I said, "Every night." He said, "Fast three days every month and complete one Qur'an every month." I said, "I have the ability to do more than that." He said, "Then fast three days every week." I said, "I have the ability to do more than that." He said, "Fast after every two days." I said, "I have the ability to do more than that." He said, "Fast the most superior of fasts, the fasting of Dawud  (peace be upon him) who used to fast every alternate day; and complete the recitation of the Qur'an in seven days ... "
(Sahih alBukhari 4765)

In another variation of this same hadith, 'Abdullah ibn Amr (r) relates:

"The Messenger of Allah (s) said to me, "Have I not been informed that you fast all day and pray all night?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Do not do it. Fast and break the fast, and pray and sleep, because your body has a right over you, your eye has a right over you, your wife has a right over you, and your visitor has a right over you. It is enough for you to fast three days out of every month. Every good action is multiplied by ten, so that is like fasting all the time." But I was austere then and made things hard for myself. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I feel strong." He said, "Fast the fast of the Prophet of Allah, Dawud (peace be upon him), but do not do more than that." I said, "What is the fast of Dawud (peace be upon him)?" He said, "Half the time." When he became old, 'Abdullah used to say, "I wished I had accepted the easier options provided by the Messenger of Allah (s)."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 1874)

{Note: This hadith also presents a model of chastity, modesty and bashfulness of the female companions (may Allah be pleased with them all), and tells us how patiently they bore the indifference of their husbands. In the instance quoted, the politeness with which the wife of 'Abdullah ibn Amr answered her father-in-law, when he enquired about the treatment of her husband, is an exceptional example of decency and endurance.}

In this hadith, the Messenger of Allah (s) advises 'Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As (r) to be moderate in his worship, and on learning that he had not slept with his wife, the Messenger of Allah (s) said to him, "Your wife has a right over you," clearly defining the husband's responsibility to fulfil his wife's sexual and other needs.

Abu Juhayfa (r) relates:

"The Messenger of Allah (s) joined Salman (r) and Abu al-Darda' (r) together in brotherhood. Salman visited Abu al-Darda' and saw Umm al-Darda' [Abu al-Darda's wife] poorly dressed and said to her, "What is the matter with you?" She said, "Your brother Abu al-Darda' has no need of this world [meaning he did not care whether his wife adorned herself for him or not since he was very busy in worshiping Allah Most High]." Abu al-Darda' came and made some food for him [i.e. Salman]. Salman said, "Eat." He said, "I am fasting." Salman said, "I will not eat unless you eat." He says, "So he ate." In the night, Abu al-Darda' went to stand in prayer and Salman said to him, "Sleep!" and so he slept. Then he got up again and Salman said, "Sleep!" When it was the latter part of the night, Salman said, "Now get up and they both prayed together." Salman said to him, "Your Lord has a right over you, your self has a right over you and your wife has a right over you, so give each rightful person their due right." Abu al-Darda' came to the Messenger of Allah (s) and mentioned this to him and the Messenger of Allah (s) said, "Salman spoke the truth."
(Sahih al-Bukhari 1867)

Scholars differ over how regularly a husband must have sex with his wife to fulfil her needs.
1) Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali holds that it is religiously obligatory for a man to have sex with his wife once every four nights, a view supported by the following incident:
'Abd al-Razzaq relates in his Al-Musannaf from Qatada and Sha'bi that a woman came to 'Umar (r) and said, "My husband stands at night [in prayer] and fasts during the day." 'Umar (r) said, ''You have praised your husband excellently well." Ka'b ibn Sawwar said to 'Umar, "She is [actually] complaining." 'Umar (r) said, "How?" He said, "She claims to have no share in the marriage from her husband [meaning her husband does not fulfil her rights]." 'Umar (r) said, "If you understand this much, then you decide between them." He (Ka'b) said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin! Allah has permitted him four wives. So she has one day of every four days, and one night of every four nights." (Suyuti, Tarikh al-Khulafa' P: 161)
In light of this, Imam Ghazali's view is that a man must fulfil his wife's sexual needs once every four nights, since he is permitted to spend the other three nights with his other wives, were he to have four. This is also the favoured position of Imam Tahawi (may Allah have mercy on him) of the Hanafi School. (See: Radd al-Muhtar 3:203 & jadid Fiqhi Masa'il 2: 172)

2) Imam Ibn Hazm (may Allah have mercy on him) holds that it is religiously obligatory for a man to sleep with his wife once every month. He states: "It is obligatory upon a man to have sex with his wife at least once in every interval (tuhr) between menstruations if he is able to do so, otherwise he will be sinful. The proof for this is the statement of Allah Most High: "But when they are purified, then approach them from where Allah has commanded you." (Al-Muhalla P: 1672)
Imam Ibn Hazm derives his opinion from the word of Allah Most High: "Approach them," a command indicative of obligation. Most scholars consider this to be a statement that permits sex after menstruation - her menses prohibited sex, and so Allah Most High returns permission once she is purified. Imam Ibn Hazm understood the text literally and ruled that having sex after one's wife is purified from menstruation is obligatory.

3) According to some scholars, a man must have sex with his wife once every four months or else he is sinful. They substantiate their position with the following narration:
Ibn Jarir relates, "I was informed by the one whom I trust that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (r), while on patrol, heard a woman saying [singing  poetry], "This night stretches out and is dark, and that I am without a companion to be intimate with has made me sleepless. Were it not for the fear of Allah like unto Whom there is none, the sides of this couch would have been moving." 'Umar (r) said, "What is wrong with you?" She said, ''You sent my husband on an expedition some months ago, and I long for him." He said, "Do you intend to do wrong?" She said, "I seek the refuge of Allah!" He said, "So restrain yourself, for it is only a matter of the message being delivered to him." 'Umar (r) sent a message to him [to return]. Then he went to [his daughter] Hafsa and said, "I want to ask you about a matter which concerns me, so dispel it for me. How long can a woman remain without her husband?" She lowered her head and was shy. He said, 'Truly Allah is not shy of the truth." So she gestured with her hand indicating three months, and if that is not possible, then four months. Hence 'Umar (r) declared that armies must not be kept on service for more than four months." (Tarikh al-Khulafa' P: 161-162)
Imam Muwaffaq al-Din Ibn Qudama (may Allah have mercy on him), a prominent Hanbali jurist, also concurs with this position in his masterpiece of Hanbali and comparative fiqh Al-Mughni. He asserts that if the husband abstains from fulfilling his wife's sexual needs due to an Islamically valid reason such as illness, then there is no fixed time period for having sex with her. If, however, he abstains without any genuine reason, he is obliged to have sex within four months, and if he fails to fulfil her sexual needs after this period, he is ordered to divorce her. (Al-Mughni8: 551-552)
{Note: It is worth noting here that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (r) did not ask his wife, but rather his daughter. Mawlana Ashraf 'Ali Thanawi states that the reason for this was that 'Umar (r) expected an impartial answer from his daughter. He thought that there was a possibility of his wife's answer being biased, since it was her husband who was asking. (Al-Ifadat al-Yawmiyya min al-Ifadat al-Qawmiyya 2:300)

4) Most jurists (fuqaha'), including many Hanafi scholars, hold that it is religiously obligatory for a husband to have sex with his wife every so often, without this being fixed at a specific frequency. The prominent Hanafi jurist Imam Haskafi states, "It is religiously obligatory for a husband to have sex with his wife every so often, and he must not reach the duration of four months without her permission ... "
Imam Ibn 'Abidin explains this by stating that the husband is religiously obligated to have sex with his wife every so often, unless he has some kind of illness or some other valid excuse. He then cites Imam Tahawi from the Hanafi School who holds the view that the husband is obligated to have sex with her once every four nights. However, he further states, that the established position of the Hanafi School (zahir al-madhhab) is that there is no fixed time-limit, rather the husband will be obligated to spend the night with his wife and fulfil her sexual needs every so often. (See: Radd al-Muhtar 'ala 'l-Durr al-Mukhtar 3:202-203, Bab al-Qasam)
According to the author, this last position seems to be the most reasonable and practical, especially in our times. As such, the husband must engage in sexual relations with his wife every so often enough to maintain her outward and inward chastity such that she does not incline towards committing an unlawful act. If a man consistently refuses his wife, he will be sinful.
However, as in the case of the husband's right to sexual relations, the obligation to fulfil the sexual needs of one's wife is conditional on the man's physical ability to have sex with his wife. If the husband is too ill or weak to engage in any sexual activity or fears that having sex with his wife will result in unbearable weakness, then he is not required to fulfil his wife's sexual needs, and will not be sinful.

The Philosophy of Gender in Islam

Wednesday, 01 Sha'ban 1428

If God is a man, that’s bad news for women – because masculinity would then be divine – and hence only the male would have been created in the divine image. This explains why the feminist revolution has redefined God as being both male and female. Islam declares that Allah Most High created both the male and the female but is neither male nor female. In addition, He never appeared in the person of anyone, male or female. And so neither at point of creation, nor at any time thereafter, has the male ever defined the female in Islam. Islam is thus unique in offering to women the opportunity to pray to a God who is not a man.

Nor has Islam ever discriminated between the male and the female in an unjust way. A woman complained to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that divine revelation in the Qur’an was addressing men only. What about women? she asked. In response, revelation came down in the Qur’an that addressed both men and women in such constant repetition that the matter was conclusively settled that Allah Most High does not discriminate in matters concerning gender in any unjust way. Indeed the blessed Prophet declared that all of mankind (male and female) would stand before Allah on the Last Day “as equal in His sight as are the teeth of a comb.”

The Qur’an has clearly established that men have (a measure of) authority over women, and has obliged a woman to be obedient to her husband (or guardian). In this connection Islam has gone to great lengths to reaffirm the natural order pertaining to the status, role and function of gender in society. Consider the following:

• The Qur’an refers to Allah Most High in the masculine, and never in the feminine gender. (The masculine gender in Arabic does not necessarily connote masculinity.)

• The Prophets sent by Allah to mankind to function as spiritual guides and leaders were all men. There was never a woman Prophet. But there is a perverted European effort which seeks to promote Mary to Prophethood.

• Although angels are neither male nor female the Qur’an gives them male names and denounces those who give them female names.

• When a child is born a thanksgiving feast called ‘Aqiqah’ is held. For a male child two animals must be sacrificed, but a female child requires the sacrifice of only one animal.

• The Prophet said that “the best row (in congregational prayer) for men is the first, and the worse is the last. And the best row for women is the last, and the worse is the first” (Sahih Muslim).

Thus men were placed physically in front of women in prayer for all times. A misguided American woman, in true Yankee style, recently put herself in front of all the Muslim men (the Americans call them guys) and led them in a completely invalid Islamic congregational prayer in a Euro-Christian church. America is a strange place!

Every morning when the sparkling sunshine envelops us as we welcome the ‘day’ as ‘day’, and every night as we gaze in wonder at the romance of the stars and moonlight and recognize ‘night’ as ‘night’, the splendor and harmonious symphony of gender overwhelms us. It is this that Islam seeks to preserve, even as the essentially godless European world and its carbon copies around the world struggle to overturn it.

Nevertheless Islam does employ a philosophy of gender that reinforces the functional differences of the male and the female in society, and that is the focus of our essay. The Qur’an teaches analogically that as day and night are functionally different yet interdependent, so too are the male and female. The ominous warning is that if this were ever to be changed, if the ‘night’ were to attempt to become ‘day’ and the sacred order of gender were to be overturned, as in the modern feminist revolution, then the anarchy and disintegration of society that would ensue would be equivalent of cosmic mayhem. The process of unraveling of social order has already commenced. The police service knows this quite well. But so many who have eyes yet cannot see, and cannot connect ‘cause’ and ‘effect’.

Woman and Paradise in Islam

Articles - Women in Islam
Wednesday, 01 Sha'ban 1428

The secular feminist revolution rose upon the world from the West with an essentially godless agenda to liberate women from the “shackles” of the ages by totally transforming her status, role and function in society. In so doing it has turned the previous religious and sacred order upside-down in such a way that the sun now appears to be rising from the west.

Secularism led to materialism which in turn denied woman any reality beyond her material reality. Consequently the young beautiful woman became the goddess of the age. But she was a goddess who was shamelessly exploited in advertising to sell everything. She became a thing enjoyed, exploited, abused, degraded and discarded when her physical beauty and sex appeal began to wane. Then a host of schoolgirls would rush in to replace her. Even the national calypsonian gave his view on the subject quite some time ago when he sang of
the prostitute, “… and if you catch them broken (i.e., in financial difficulty), you can get them all for nothing.”

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) prophesied the deception that would enslave women. He said, “women would be dressed and yet be naked”, thus anticipating an age of increasing feminine nudity that would be integrally linked to the feminist revolution. Carnival bandleaders in Trinidad are now complaining that they cannot use enough cloth to make creative designs since women increasingly demand the skimpiest of costumes.

The ‘naked’ woman’s body was used to usher a sexual revolution that would culminate, according to the Prophet, with “the majority of children being born out of wedlock” and “people having sexual intercourse in public like donkeys.” When we see sex publicly simulated in Trinidad carnival we know that the feminist revolution will soon climax with woman being transformed into a donkey. Despite this colossal failure, the modern godless world has insisted on opening a ‘gender’ battlefield in quest of ‘equality’ while waging war on Islam. The latest target is the innocent Hijab that is maliciously attacked because it obstructs the way for the Muslim woman to be absorbed into the godless melting pot.

Islam has never sought to put an equal sign between the sexes. ‘Woman’ can neither be studied nor understood in a context independent of ‘man’. The two are inseparable. The Prophet declared that women were “… the twin-halves of men.” The Qur’an confirmed this inter-dependence when it declared “They are your garments, and you are their garments.”

And in a passage with sublime literary beauty the Qur’an (al-Lail, 92:1-4) first directed attention to the ‘night’ and that which it shrouds and conceals with such mystery and splendor, and then turned to the ‘day’ with its bright light which exposes everything and leaves nothing concealed, and then proceeded to explain that the ‘male’ and the ‘female’ are functionally analogous to the ‘day’ and the ‘night’. In the same way that ‘day’ and ‘night’ are functionally different yet interdependent, so too are the ‘male’ and ‘female’.

When this philosophy of gender was applied to Muslim society the ‘night’ never attempted to become ‘day’. Rather ‘night’ and ‘day’ eternally longed for each other. And so we were never subjected to the abominable phenomenon (that European civilization is now exporting to the rest of the world) of the ‘day’ mating with ‘day’ and vice-versa

Women in such a society not only fulfilled all their sacred functional duties as wives and as mothers, and thus contributed in a significant way to preservation of the health, strength and stability of the family, but, in addition, they preserved both their femininity as well as their fertility. And so the Muslim woman remained truly and enchantingly a woman! An age that produced the celibate priest had obstinately insisted that one had to turn away from woman in order to turn to God. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah Most High be upon him) responded by declaring “Three things have been made dear to me in this world of yours – perfume, women and prayer.” And so Islam rejected both celibacy and the ‘object’ while recognizing woman, like prayer, to be a medium through which a man might journey to paradise.

MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD: A FALSE MESSIAH - JERUSALEM IN THE QUR’AN

JERUSALEM IN THE QUR’AN

By Imran N. Hosein

PART ONE
Chapter 9

MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD: A FALSE MESSIAH

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands is my soul, surely (Jesus,) the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind justly (as a Just Ruler); he will break the cross and kill the pigs and there will be no Jizyah. Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration to Allah (in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is in it.”   Abu Huraira added, “If you wish, you can recite (this verse of the Holy Book):

‘And there is none of the people of the Scriptures (Jews and Christians) but must believe in him (i.e., Jesus) before his death. And on the Day of Judgment He will be a witness against them.”
(Qur’an, al-Nisa, 4:159)

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a Punjabi Muslim who lived in the town of Qadian in India at the beginning of the twentieth century. He died just about the time of the commencement of the First World War. He did not live to see the transfer of power from one Ruling State in the world (Britain) to another (USA) that occurred during the First World War. Nor did he live to see the return of the Jews to the Holy Land and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. He also has not lived to see what we are about to witness, i.e., the transfer of power from USA to another Ruling State – the Jewish State of Israel. This book anticipates that such will occur within the next five to ten years or even sooner.

Mirza startled the world when he made a number of claims pertaining to the prophecy of the return of the Messiah. He established the Ahmadiyyah Movement in India and it promptly embarked upon an extraordinary effort in the western world to preach and to convert European people to Ahmadiyyah. But the Movement also took pains to devote special attention to African-American Muslims of the Nation of Islam who were led by Elijah Muhammad. As a consequence Mirza has succeeded in influencing African-American Muslims, who are today led by Imam Warithuddin (Sahih Bukhari)

Muhammad [update: announced giving up his leadership post in September 2003] or by Louis Farrakhan, in respect of the subject of the return of the Messiah. For this reason it became necessary for us to devote a chapter to the claims of Mirza.

As the historical process unfolds in this last stage of history it should become increasingly clear to his followers as well as to those who were influenced by his teachings that the following claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (of India) were quite false:

Ø  He is the Imam al-Mahdi who will be the leader of the Muslims at the time when the Messiah returns,
Ø  The prophecy pertaining to the return of the Messiah was fulfilled in him,
Ø  He is a divinely appointed Prophet.

We hope that Ahmadis will respond to our invitation, which we hereby extend, to use the Qur’an and Ahadith to explain the above-mentioned events which have occurred after the death of Mirza and in particular the ‘return’ of the Jewish people to the Holy Land and establishment of the State of Israel. If they do so we are sure that they will discover a new understanding of the subjects of Dajjal, the False Messiah, Gog and Magog, Imam al-Mahdi and the Return of the Messiah (Jesus, the Son of Mary) - an understanding quite different from that which they received from Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

This book was written to help Ahmadis as they seek that Qur’anic explanation for the strangest event ever to have occurred in the religious history of mankind, i.e., the return of the Jews to the Holy Land. It is not possible for a member of the Ahmadiyyah Movement to understand and accept the basic arguments and conclusions of this book without at the same time rejecting the claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to have been the Messiah who would one day return, the Imam al-Mahdi, and a divinely appointed Prophet. And Allah guides to His light whomsoever Allah wishes to guide!

Jews were not the only ones who were deceived by Dajjal. Many pious Muslims, whose demonstration of a sincere pursuit of faith inspired awe, were similarly deceived. In all sincerity they joined the Ahmadiyyah Movement and were convinced that they had embraced the only authentic expression of Islam in the world. Instead they entered into a trap set for them by Dajjal. How were they deceived?

The Ahmadiyyah Movement believes that the prophecy concerning the return of the Messiah was fulfilled in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. There are a number of reasons why this claim is false. Firstly the Ahadith pertaining to the ‘return of the Messiah’ made it abundantly clear that the Messiah who would return would be the ‘son of Mary’. But Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is the son of a Punjabi woman. Secondly if Mirza was indeed the fulfillment of the prophecy pertaining to the return of the Messiah then he, Mirza, had to kill Dajjal, the False Messiah, during his own lifetime since this is what the Messiah is supposed to do. This is what the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) had to say on the subject. We quote the entire Hadith for the benefit of readers:

“Narrated al-Nawwas ibn Sam’an:
Allah’s Apostle mentioned of Dajjal one day in the morning. He sometimes described him as insignificant and sometimes described (his turmoil) as very significant (and we felt) as if he were in the cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him (to the Holy Prophet) in the evening and he read (the signs of fear) on our faces,
he said: What is the matter with you?

We said: Allah’s Apostle you mentioned the Dajjal this morning (sometimes describing him) as insignificant and sometimes very important, until we began to think he was present in some (nearby) part of the cluster of the date-palm trees.

So he said: I harbour fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among you, I shall contend with him on your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not among you, a man must contend on his own behalf and Allah will take care of every Muslim on my behalf (and safeguard him against his evil). He (the Dajjal) will be a young man with twisted, cropped hair, and a blind eye. I compare him with Abd al-Uzza ibn Qatan. He who among you will survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf. He will appear on the way between Syria and Iraq and will spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! Adhere (to the path of Truth).

We said: Allah’s Apostle, how long will he stay on Earth?

He said: For forty days, one day like a year, one day like a month, one day like a week, and the rest of the days will be like your days.

We said: Allah’s Apostle will one day’s prayer suffice for the prayers of the day equal to one year?

Thereupon he said: No, but you must make an estimate of the time (and then observe prayer).

We said: Allah’s Apostle how quickly will he walk upon the earth?

Thereupon he said: Like cloud driven by the wind.
Ø  He will come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion); they will affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He will then give a command to the sky: there will be rainfall upon the Earth and it will grow crops. Then in the evening, their pasturing animals will come to them with their humps very high, their udders full of milk and their flanks distended.
Ø  He will then come to another people and invite them. But they will reject him so he will go away from them; they will have a drought and nothing will be left with them in the form of wealth.
Ø  He will then walk through the desert and say to it: Bring forth your treasures. The treasures will come out and gather before him like a swarm of bees. (This refers to the discovery of oil and so many other treasures of the earth).
Ø  He will then call someone in the flush of youth, strike him with the sword, cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at the distance that is generally between the archer and his target. He will then call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face gleaming (with happiness).
Ø  It will be at this very time that Allah will send Christ, son of Mary. He will descend at the white minaret on the eastern side of Damascus, wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he lowers his head, there will fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he raises it up, beads like pearls will scatter from it. Every non-believer who smells the odour of his body will die and his breath will reach as far as he is able to see. He will then search for him (Dajjal) until he catches hold of him at the gate of Ludd and kills him.
Ø  Then a people whom Allah had protected will come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he will wipe their faces and inform them of their ranks in Paradise. It will be under such conditions that Allah will reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought forth from among My servants such people against whom none will be able to fight; you take these people safely to Tur, and then Allah will send Gog and Magog and they will swarm down from every slope.
Ø  The first of them will pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them passes, he will say: There was once water there. Jesus and his companions will then be besieged here (at Tur, and they will be so hard pressed) that the head of the ox will be dearer to them than one hundred dinars.
Ø  Allah’s Apostle Jesus, and his companions, will supplicate Allah, Who will send to them insects (which will attack their necks) and in the morning they would perish as one single person. Allah’s Apostle Jesus, and his companions, then come down to Earth and they will not find on Earth as much space as a single span that is not filled with putrefaction and stench.
Ø  Allah’s Apostle Jesus, and his companions, will then beseech Allah who will send birds whose necks would be like those of Bactrian camels and they will carry them away and throw them where Allah wills. Then Allah will send rain which no house of mud-bricks or (tent of) camelhair will keep out and it will wash the Earth until it resembles a mirror.
Ø  Then the Earth will be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof, there will grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of people will be able to eat it and seek shelter under its skin, a dairy cow will give so much milk that a whole party will be able to drink it. The milking camel will give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe will be able to drink from it, and the milking-sheep will give so much milk that the whole family will be able to drink from it.
Ø  At that time Allah will send a pleasant wind that will soothe (people) even under their armpits. He will take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked will survive who will commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them.”
(Sahih Muslim)

The Hadith is clear. Jesus, the true Messiah, would kill Dajjal the False Messiah:
“He will then search for him (Dajjal) until he catches hold of him at the gate of Ludd and kills him.” If Mirza Ghulam Ahmad fulfilled the prophecy in the Ahadith pertaining to the return of Jesus (‘alaihi al-Salam) then he would also have had to kill Dajjal. There could not, therefore, be any possibility of Dajjal, the False Messiah, continuing his mission after the death of Mirza. Yet Mirza died soon after the birth of the Zionist Movement, and did not live to see Dajjal’s great triumph, namely the creation of the ‘Impostor’ State of Israel and the return of the Jews to the Holy Land. In the entire religious history of mankind there has never been an event that could compare in strangeness with this achievement of Dajjal, the False Messiah.

Thirdly, there is a mountain of evidence (discernible by those who see with two eyes) that we are still living in the age of Dajjal, the False Messiah. Such, for example, are the following:

Ø  The philosophical Shirk in modern-day materialism which has fulfilled the prophesy of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) who declared of Dajjal that he would attempt to deceive mankind into worshipping him rather than Allah, Most High. The very heart of the attack of materialism emerged from the island of Britain. The Hadith of Tamim Dari in Sahih Muslim clearly indicated that when Dajjal was released he would be in an island and it would be from that island that he would launch his attack on mankind and on the Jews. We have demonstrated that the island could not have been any other than Britain.
Ø  The philosophical Shirk of the modern western epistemology that denies the validity of ‘internal intuitive spiritual’ knowledge and which is clearly evident in the ominous declaration of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) that Dajjal, the False Messiah, sees with ‘one’ eye while “your Lord is not one eyed”. This one-eyed epistemology was embraced by modern western civilization and then transmitted to the rest of mankind through modern western education. Again it was Britain that led the epistemological attack.
Ø  The universal political Shirk of the modern secular State which has also fulfilled the prophecy of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) who declared that Dajjal, the False Messiah, would target mankind to get them to worship him instead of Allah, Most High. Modern western civilization produced the modern secular State that declared that sovereignty resided with the State, that the authority of the State was supreme, and that the law of the State was the highest law. Allah could declare something to be Haram but the State could make it Halal, i.e., legalize it. This was clear Shirk but, amazingly, even Muslims have difficulty in understanding it and recognizing it. The entire world has now embraced the secular State and the secular United Nations Organization that leads the system. But this had not as yet occurred when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad died.
Ø  The scientific and technological revolution that has brought to the world air and space travel, telephones and other modern telecommunications, etc., has deceptively mixed that which is manifestly beneficial with that which is dangerously harmful. That unfinished revolution still has strange and wondrous feats to be performed. That scientific and technological revolution is connected to Dajjal and this is discernible in Ahadith which declare, for example, that Dajjal would ride on an ass which would travel as fast as the clouds and which would have its ears stretched out wide. This refers to the modern airplane and fighter aircraft.
Ø  Allah Most High created mankind and then announced to the angels that He was going to place on earth one who would function as His khalifah (i.e., would act on His behalf in a capacity subordinate to Him). The Islamic Khilafah State (Caliphate) did precisely that. It recognized Allah’s Sovereignty and Supreme Authority, and recognized Allah’s Law as the highest Law. It was destroyed by western civilization after the death of Mirza and it was replaced by the modern secular State founded on Shirk. The new secular State embraced Turkey at the very seat of the Khilafah. This was the work of Dajjal. Yet it took place after the death of Mirza.
Ø  The Riba that has embraced the economy around the world in fulfillment of the prophecy of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) who declared that the age of Dajjal, the False Messiah, would be the age of universal Riba. The Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) also prophesied that the day would come when you would not be able to find a single person in all of mankind who would not be consuming Riba, and that if any one were to claim that he was not consuming Riba, “verily the dust of Riba would be upon him.” That prophecy has now been fulfilled. Riba now controls the entire world economy. But it had not yet done so when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad died.
Ø  The modern feminist revolution and its struggle for women’s liberation that has fulfilled the prophecy of the Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) in which he spoke of women as ‘the last people who would come out to Dajjal, the False Messiah’:

“The last (people) to come out to Dajjal will be women, so much so that a man would have to return to his mother, daughter, sister and aunt and tie them fast lest they should go out to him (Dajjal).”
 (Kanz al-‘Ummal. Vol. 7, Hadith No. 2116)

“Most of those who follow him (Dajjal) will be Jews and women.”
(Kanz al-‘Ummal. Vol. 7, Hadith No. 2114)

British women led the struggle. It was only in the twentieth century, after the death of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, that the feminist revolution successfully penetrated the Muslim world.

Ø  The environmental pollution that is bringing about the climatic change that the Prophet (‘alaihi al-Salam) prophesied would occur at the time of Dajjal, the False Messiah. This is now taking place in the world, yet Mirza is long dead.
Ø  The awesome deception of the modern age in which ‘appearance’ and ‘reality’ are so completely different from each other, the road to heaven having the appearance of the road to hell and vice versa is evidence that Dajjal is still at work! The Prophet (sallalahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said that Dajjal would do precisely that!
Ø  The ‘liberation’ of the Holy Land from non-Jewish (i.e., Muslim) rule, the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel, were all accomplished with active involvement of a Christian ‘island’ named Britain which is located about one month’s journey by sea from the Arabian peninsular (exactly as mentioned in the Hadith of Tamim al-Dari). Also, they were all accomplished after the death of Mirza.
Ø  It is likely that the State of Israel would soon displace USA as the Ruling State in the world and would then lay claim to the return of the Golden Age of Solomon (‘alaihi al-Salam). This has not as yet taken place. But when it does it would represent further progress in Dajjal’s mission of impersonating the Messiah. All of this would soon take place yet Mirza died almost a century ago.

All of the above are the work of Dajjal, the False Messiah, who is still very much alive, yet Mirza is already dead. In fact all of the above emerged fully in the world and assumed a universal character long after the death of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. If Mirza killed Dajjal, the False Messiah, then how do the followers of Mirza explain all of the above? Perhaps the discerning followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad may now recognize the reality of the world today, and so recognize that the Truth is different from the claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad. Amin!
