Self Control

1 – Lower your gaze and avoid looking at forbidden things.

That includes not looking at women on the TV, for the pictures of women that are shown on the TV are one of the greatest causes of temptation and provocation of desire. 

Forbidden looks are one of the arrows of the Satan. If you are fulfilling your desire by means of the secret habit now, you will not be able to control this desire and prevent yourself from satisfying it by means of other major sins that are even more serious, such as homosexuality and adultry. 

2 – Avoiding being alone. 

The wolf only eats the sheep that strays away from the flock, and the Satan gains control over the man who is on his own, but he is further away from two and even further away from three. 

3 – Fast a great deal. 

 

This is the advice to young men who are unable to get married. Fasting is a way of disciplining oneself, lowering the gaze and guarding one's chastity. 

4 – Making a lot of du’aa’, 

Praying for forgiveness and glorifying Allaah. Whoever keeps himself busy with this, the Satan will have no way to tempt him and lead him astray. 

5 – Praying 

sincerely that Allaah will keep you away from forbidden things and whatever leads to them

6 – Keeping company with righteous people. 

A righteous friend will only show you the way to good

“And your Lord said: Invoke Me [i.e. believe in My Oneness and ask Me for anything] I will respond to your (invocation)”

Marriage is the natural solution for controlling temptations and when we think of alternatives we think of them as being temporary.

There are two things which will help to combat the effects of desire: 

1.     Strengthening that which prevents us from giving into it. This includes strengthening our faith, fearing Allaah and His punishment, strengthening our resolve and will-power, and understanding the consequences of following our desires, in this world and the next.

 

2.     Weakening the motives, which is achieved by fasting and by keeping away from that which provokes desire, foremost among which is looking at forbidden things and keeping bad company.

 Self control is the ability to control one's emotions, behavior, and desires in order to obtain some reward, or avoid some punishment.

Body Building

Bodybuilding is a form of physical exercise and body modification involving intensive muscle hypertrophy. 

An individual who engages in this activity is referred to as a bodybuilder.

Muscle hypertrophy is an increase in the size of a muscle through an increase in the size of its component cells.

 

Bodybuilding aims to make the body strong and sound, which is an important and desirable goal. 

Islam is concerned with man’s well-being in both body and soul, and it encourages all kinds of sport that will strengthen the body and maintain good health as well as providing relaxation and leisure, such as swimming, shooting, horse-riding, sword-fighting and wrestling.

But when Islam accepts sports and encourages us to engage in them, it does not make them a goal in and of themselves, rather sport is considered to be a means of protecting the sacred limits of Islam and the dignity and rights of the Muslims, in the belief that strength is one of the most important means of achieving victory and prevailing in the face of challenges and warding off the threats that face Islam.

 

If the purpose of sport is to prepare the body to be fit to carry out the duty of jihad so as to make the word of Allaah supreme, then sport is essential. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): 

“And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war…” [al-Anfaal 8:60]
 

And the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allaah than the weak believer.” Narrated by Muslim, 6774.

 

If the aim is relaxation and maintaining good health, then sport is permissible. If it involves something haraam, such as missing prayers, uncovering any part of the ‘awrah or mixing with women and so on, then it is haraam. 

Those who engage in bodybuilding uncover their ‘awrah when practicing this sport, which is undoubtedly haraam. The ‘awrah of a man extends from the navel to the knee, and it is not permissible for him to uncover it in front of anyone other than his wife. It is also not permissible for him to look at the ‘awrah of anyone else.

 

If the sport is free of these haraam things, then there is nothing wrong with engaging in it.

But two points should be noted:

Some of those who engage in this sport are motivated by self-admiration and love of pride and showing off before others because of their beautiful bodies and strong muscles… and other bad motives, some of which are worse than others.  The believer should shun such things and seek the adornment of good attitude, humility and fairness.

Going to extremes in making the body look good and being concerned with that is not a good thing. What is good in this regard is that which helps the Muslim to maintain good health, to practise Islam, to engage in jihad for the sake of Allaah and to do the acts of worship which require physical strength such as Hajj. 

But doing more than that and going to extremes usually distracts the Muslim from doing things that are more important, as happens in the case of those who practise many kinds of sports nowadays, so you see them training for many hours each day. 

What benefit can a Muslim gain if his body is as strong as a bull, but his heart is devoid of faith and all virtue? 

We ask Allaah to help us to do that which is good for us and will bring us happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.

Condom

It is permissible to use condoms so long as this does not cause any harm and so long as both husband and wife consent to their use, because this is similar to coitus interruptus or “withdrawal”. But it reduces the sensation of pleasure, which is the right of both partners, and reduces the chance of conception, which is also the right of both partners. Neither one of them is allowed to deprive the other of these rights.

Male Condom

A condom is a barrier device most commonly used during sexual intercourse to reduce the probability of pregnancy and spreading sexually transmitted diseases (STDs—such as gonorrhea, syphilis, and HIV). It is put on a man's erect penis and physically blocks ejaculated semen from entering the body of a sexual partner.

Female Condom

Male condoms have a tight ring to form a seal around the penis while female condoms typically have a large stiff ring to keep them from slipping into the body orifice.

Hug

A hug can be given as an indication of support, comfort, and consolation, particularly where words are insufficient.



A hug is usually a demonstration of affection and emotional warmth, sometimes arising out of joy or happiness at meeting someone or seeing someone that they have not seen in a long time.



A non-reciprocal hug may demonstrate a problem in the relationship.
The length of a hug in any situation is socially and culturally determined.

  In the case of lovers, but not others, the hips may also be pressed together. Not allowed!

 
A hug, sometimes in association with a kiss, is a form of nonverbal communication. Depending on culture, context and relationship, a hug can indicate familiarity, love, affection, friendship or sympathy.
 

Hugging has been proven to have health benefits.
One study has shown that hugs increase levels of oxytocin, and reduce blood pressure.

Side hug

The Christian side hug is a term for a display of affection in which a person hugs another by putting one arm around their shoulders, rather than both arms around them.
